Corner bats

Will the Mets make a deal to boost their offense at the corners?  Is Mike Cameron really going to pretend he's a right fielder?

Going into the spring, some of the corner spots have solidified: Wright at 3B and Mietkiewicz at 1B will presumably be the starting players for 2005.  The outfield corners seem more uncertain.  Floyd has been the subject of trade rumors for a year, and with fragile knees and poor range he might be better suited to part-time DHing for an AL club (the Rangers?).  Cameron is disgruntled with the Beltran-inspired move to RF, as he should be since Cameron is a far superior defensive CF, and has been all over the back pages in trade rumors for two months (in deals that made no sense at all, like a straight swap for Eric Byrnes).

Trouble is, if either one is dealt (for pitching or what have you) there are few better hitters that seem available for reasonable trades.  After losing out on Delgado, the Mets seemingly need at least one more upgraded bat at a corner to have a real playoff shot.  What's out there and how will they get it?
