10 Game Challenge (w/Poll)
This next stretch of ten games in a row is really going to show us what this team is (or isn't). The Yankees series is probably a circus where anything could happen -- it's hard to tell how good or bad the Yankees are right now. But then you know what we're getting with the Braves and Marlins.
I'm predicting 5-5, which would be a result that indicates this is a team that could compete or at least hang in there for the playoff race. (Ultimately, I think we're going to come up short this year, but I'd bet that at the end of the season we'll be within 5 games of either NL East leader or the wild card).
I think we're going to beat the Yanks twice, lose two to the Braves (because we always do), and split with Florida (hopefully we'll face Leiter again).

6-4 or 5-5
I'm worried about opening the subway series with Zambrano, though with Brown on the hill for the Yanks, maybe the Mets can pull off a 10-9 slug fest. I'm also concerned about closing the series with a potentially gimpy Pedro.
Splitting the fish series would be a moral victory.

agree
I think the Thompson injury is big -- he pitches much better against us than anyone else.
6-4
Braves
Also encouraging is that someone finally beat Dontrelle Willis last week. He looked unstoppable up until then.
