The Mets' losing ways have reached almost 2002-like proportions over the last couple of weeks. What should be done?
Because I'm not a great believer in Omar and the Wilpons' self-control, I am almost rooting for the losing to continue a bit longer, on the reasoning that a Mets team that is well-and-truly out of the race in July will prevent them from making any more sell-the-farm deals to "make a stretch run." However, irrational management could just as well overreact to the media frenzy that comes with a big losing streak like this one and pull the trigger on an ill-advised deal (Mike Sweeney?). What would be the best outcome of the next month -- for the 2006 Mets? All together now: NO MORE KAZMIRS.
