Calling for an exorcism...and a closer
The Mets left their house of horrors, Turner Field, with another stinker of a road series. Over the last few years, in the month of September, the Mets are 4-23 at Jane Fonda Field...I mean Turner Field.
In addition to that putrid September record our Mets have not won a single series against the Braves in the last 2 years...2 friggin years! If that's not a sign that we have a curse on our hands, or that Bobby Cox secrectly practices voodoo and prays to Jobu, then I don't know what more evidence you need. Oh, how about the fact that the Braves have won the division for the last 14 years...14 friggin years!!! When will something go wrong for that team? (Quick side note, John Schuerholz should be awarded GM of the decade)
I think the Mets need to perform an exorcism the next time they get to Turner Field. They need to do something man...I can't stand watching the Braves use us as a doormat and basically laugh at us the entire time. Scoring more than 7 runs the entire damn series would have helped. Not going 0-9 with RISP two nights ago would have helped. And not havnig Benitiz II as a closer would also help. He's horrendous!
Why can't a guy who throws that hard strike somebody out once in a while? Is it just me, or does anyone else notice that he always pitches up in the zone? It drives me nuts that the closer with jug handles for ears can't bend his back a little more and get the ball down. His fastball is too flat to pitch in that area, I don't care how hard he throws. Now I'm just rambling because I'm so pissed off with the Mets. Thoughts and comments welcome.

What a kick in the gut
Last night and the loss on opening day to the Reds are ugly bookends on Looper's season.
Looper is like Benitez in the sense that neither is smart enough to be a good closer. Throwing hard isn't enough.
