Report: Lima Time! Runs Out
After three starts, all of them losses, and 26 basrunners in 14.1 innings, Lima Time! has been designated for assignment. Omar Minaya has stated that the Mets front office will sit down and consider all possibilities for the back end of the rotation, both foreign and domestic. Lima is gone, and Gonzalez can't be far behind. What's next?

Where to go? I can understand the team's reluctance to mess with their bullpen, so that is out, for now. I heard that Pelfry might be up to the big club by the end of the week. I don't know what would be available via the trade route at this time, at this point in the season. And, rememeber, we are talking about the back-end of the rotation, where a team only needs a pitcher that can pitch at the .500-level. I guess that isn't so easy to find, however. How many teams are looking for that type of pitcher, right?
I think most fans felt that there could be problems with the starting pitching and that has come to roost. I hope the answer won't cost the Mets too much.
