The only prescription: more Hernandez?
Via metsblog, Dan Graziano of the Star-Ledger has a piece looking at the Mets' options for adding a starter this summer. His take is that Livan Hernandez is the most likely option, and would cost the Mets the least.
I think I like the idea. Not only would reuniting the Hernandez brothers be cheaper than the other options, it would seem to make the most sense - rather than grasping at over-priced "aces" like Willis or Maddux, the Mets would be getting what they need: a quality third starter. They could move Trachs to fourth, where he belongs, and have their pick among Soler, Bannister, Maine, and Pelfrey at number five.
What do y'all think? And who would the Mets have to deal for Livan?

How is Willis overpriced?
Pelfrey+ for Willis is fine with me. He needs to be rescued from Florida.

Maybe not overpriced
I agree that the Marlins are dragging him down, and if we get him, I won't be displeased. But LH gives us what we really need right now, without giving up Pelfrey.

I think this team is one starter from a ring
The answer will be obviously the superior third starter in the postseason over Trax and Duque.
I'm not sure Livan is that guy.
On your list, I like Willis, Schmidt and Zito for the task.
Giving up Pelfrey would hurt, especially within-division.
I'm sure Omar will cook something up for the deadline, and I hope it's not another K for Z.
