Magic Number Time?
Is it time for Eric to start running a box on the home page counting down the Mets' magic number to clinch the NL East? After the sweep of the Phillies, the magic number is 88. And it's only 85 to eliminate the Braves. I think it's a good idea, if only to erase the memory of the "tragic number" feature that ran here (and elsewhere) last year. But what do you think? Take the poll.

caution in the dugout
Self-control? Words of wisdom from Willie? A healthy knowledge of the vicissitudes of Fortuna's wheel? Whatever works.

Braves Wanker announcers
(the #s may be wrong, but the point is, the Mets, even after tonight's loss to the Os, are rolling, and the Braves suck.)
And while I can forgive some Mets fans for wanting to now what the magic # is, I think it's a little premature to start posting it on the site. Let's wait until it's under 20 before we start doing that.
