Livan Hernandez dealt to the D-Backs

for minor league prospects, Garrett Mock, RHP, and Matt Chico LHP.

Both are 23 years old, and will report to the Nats AA Affiliate

Thank God, and this ends the possibility that the Mets trade for Livan Hernandez if another one of those pesky starting pitcher injuries pops up.

It works for the Nats, because they salary dump.

But it's important for the Mets fans because we know no longer have to dread going to sleep at night with the possibility that Livan Hernandez might show up in a Mets uniform.

If only the Mets could trade Jose Lima or DFA him, I really could sleep at night, soundly, even.

Don't worry about Lima.

I don't expect him back up; any hole(s) in the rotation will be filled w/ either Pelfrey or Bannister. Frankly, I would be surprised if Lima Time even gets a September call-up, and just gets quietly non-tendered over the winter.

But here's an idea for a discussion thread-- which minor leaguers should the Mets call up come September 1?
