Offseason OMGWTFLOL
I have no words adequate to describe this:
There is a term in baseball, grinder, to describe those who bring it every day and treat each at-bat like a mini holy war. The Mets need a whole lot fewer whiners and lawyers who sap the energy/togetherness in their clubhouse, and more grinders, especially because Randolph is so non-confrontational even with his worst offenders. Look, the Diamondbacks are a club that believes in statistical analysis, yet recently gave Eric Byrnes a three-year, $30 million extension in recognition of what his daily zeal does for the group. So the Mets should look seriously at free agents Aaron Rowand to play center field and David Eckstein to play second base, and/or see if they could pry someone such as the Angels' jack-in-the-box Chone Figgins to be their jack-of-all-trades.
Yes, that's what the Mets need: the ability to make more outs, but make them more passionately. That grittyhustleness won't come cheap, though.
The bar has been set pretty high for this early in the offseason, but perhaps if we work together we can find something to top this. Let's use this thread as a roundup for further offseason insanity.

I hate Aaron Rowand
When I see and hear him talk, I can't help but think his IQ is near 50.
Oh, and what to do with Carlos Beltran? Yeah. Lets get Rowand to play center when we already have Beltran.
Question
Juan Pierre
he did mention
it was inevitable
And I'm not going to add anything else about Eckstein except that I'd rather have Anderson Hernandez than David Hustle-hoff.
Harsh
FJM!
They finally got around to ripping the article to pieces.

Why ruin good karma by hiring A-Rod? He was once privately nicknamed the "cooler" by his teammates in Texas for his habit of turning a hot team tepid. He is known for dividing the Yankees' locker in 2006 with his stats-first attitude.
Right, adding the best hitter in baseball to your team is certainly enough to turn it "tepid" with run-scoring turpitude. And curse him for that stats-first attitude, which he backs up by being first with the best stats in the game! How dare he! The guy would be worth millions more if only he put stats lower on his list of priorities.
I'm expecting more amazing stupidity from this topic in the ensuing days.
