Going to Milwaukee!

I live in Chicago, and earlier this year bought some cheap tix (planning on moving up ;) ) for tonight's game in Milwaukee.  Just so happens that I might be there for Tommy's 300th win!  I'm hoping the offense shows up and gives me something to be excited about, especially D-Dub, because I'll be sporting my new jersey bearing his name.  My Cub fan friend will be joining me.  Should be a good time!

Any other Met fans from up there?

I'm envious
If this game were at Shea, there is no way I'd miss it.  Have fun.  Let's go, Tommy.
We've got ourselves a ball club, the Mets of New York town!

Yeah
I REALLY hope he gets it, because I've never been to a game where anything cool like that has happened.  The most interesting thing I can remember is being at the game where Todd Hundley (my favorite player as a kid) hit his first career HR.

It'd be cool to see Tommy do it against ATL, but I'd rather see it in person.

*Cries*
I hate you, Guillermo Mota.

And where the hell was Billy Wagner?  I was begging for him in those final innings.  I don't care if it's not a save opp, the middle of that lineup is too good to have Aaron Sele pitching to them.

I may post pics later, right now I'm too drained.  Damn.

Now going to Chicago!
Well..I'm already there.  But I'll be visiting the local scalper tomorrow, for round 2 of trying to see Tommy get to #300.  Me and 3 friends are hoping to pick up some bleacher tix, those are running anywhere from $70-150 on Craigslist right now.  Or there's 3rd row seats there for $400 each.  Anyone want to send a few hundred to help a fellow Met fan see a milestone?  ;)

Enjoy
Have fun if you make it. Game is supposed to be on espn (and I'll be off work before it starts!) so I'll look out for some Mets fans there.
aka Rob (I should've picked a shorter "handle")

Omar's off-season contract strategy. (Get it?)
(Yes, I'm having too much fun with GraphJam)
I'm doing a little study on the NL East and thought I'd share an interesting little tidbit. To all of the self-loathing Mets fans/lazy 'MLB insiders' and journalistic parrots who have 1) Condemned the entire Mets organization as a joke 2) Written off this core's impressive run to date and 3) Deified the Phillies as unstoppable juggernauts w/ no chance to lose this division:

Yes, those wins are weighted towards '06-'07 and yes, the Phillies' are more recent but the fact remains that no other team in that span can even come close to the Mets total of days in first place, which should be garnering a lot more respect than it has. If only because we still have nearly the same core in place that has clearly had a lot of success and health-willing can very easily do so again in 2010.
