Fernando Tatis Re-signed
Tatis has been re-signed.
Tatis signed a 1 year, 1.17 million dollar deal to play for the Mets in 2009.
How do you feel about the move? It seems like a good chunk of change from last year, but maybe Omar realized it's chump change for a team with our resources. I'm worried that Omar will be looking at Tatis to actually start instead of being a righty bat off the bench and spot-starter.
Maybe he'll even let Tatis start at third or gasp second, and see how well he can do as the consumate utility man.
Yay or Nay, fans?

I'm fine with this
as long as, like you said, they’re not counting on him to be a starter/consistent contributor. He’s got decent pop for a guy coming off the bench, and enough versatility to play a few positions.
I'm fine with it
As long as he’s not starting.
'Catsmeat!' he cried. 'I see it all. It was that chump, Catsmeat.'

Agreed
I mentioned it the other day, but as a bat off the bench the Mets could do — and have done — a whole lot worse than Fernando Tatis.
he could also be 1/4 of a LF platoon
any cheap lefties available with decent gloves?
Beyond the Boxscore // Calling BJ Upton lazy is lazy.
Fine...
…We have completed some easy work by retaining both, Tatis and Delgado.
Now, let’s see the front office get serious about our bullpen. This is the METS version of our country’s concern for the economy.
I want to see real action by Omar on our bullpen. In my opinion, this is THE issue for the off-season.
