Trevor Hoffman done in San Diego as Padres pull offer
I'd love to sign Hoffman to a 1 year deal.

Wouldn't we all.
What would it take to bring Hoffman to Queens? Assuming only a 1-year contract maybe $5-6 million?

I think SD was offering 1yr/$4mil
So probably a little raise to get him to cross coasts. He’s not my first choice for bullpen help but I think it wouldn’t be a terrible idea as a one-year deal. At the very least, he expands the field as far as the available closer options go, and that’s not so bad.
Plus, I love me some AC/DC. I’ll take “Hells Bells” over “Enter Sandman” every day of the week.

Agreed
But mainly because Sandman might be my least favorite Metallica song*.

agree completely
Metallica is awesome, but Enter Sandman sucks. Actually it might not suck, but it’s been overplayed to the point of suckage.

T-Hoff? We're talking about T-Hoff?
Nope, Nope, Nope, Nope. No more crusty ass veterans.
I’m gonna channel my inner Mike Singletary here: (I’ll incorporate appropriate baseball verbiage where Mike “Old School” Singletary uses football verbiage. I’ll surround my words with quotation marks.)
" We cannot make decisions that cost the team – And then he comes off the “mound” and is nonchalant. No, you know what? This is how I believe, o.k. I’m from the old school. I believe this. I would rather play with “eight” people, and just get “thrown out” all the way, until we gotta do somethin’ else. …Rather than play with “nine”… when I know, that that person is really not sold out to be a part of this team. It is more about “him” than it is about the team."
" CAN NOT PLAY WITH HIM "
" CAN NOT WIN WITH HIM "
" CAN NOT COACH WITH HIM "
" CAN’T DO IT "
“…I want winners. I want people that wanna win.”
Bobby V, I don’t know if this came off as funny as Singletary’s rant, but I thought I’d give it a go. No one else was replying to AMS258’s post anyway. ;-)
I don’t want T-Hoff pitching for the METS.

It might be as funny as Singletary's rant
if you dropped trou while typing it in order to further motivate us. Personally, I say give it a shot, see what it’ll take to sign him.

Dear Lord friend
You don’t want me dropping trou. It’s like the Amazon down there. And I ain’t just talkin about the snake. :-)

Puking in mouth
Didn’t that ODB in the movie: “Things to do in Denver When You’re Dead” refer to puking in mouth as a ‘Mustard Burp’?
