Why the Mets shouldn't sign K-Rod or Varitek.

An article i bumped into about a guy thinking we shouldn't sign any of the two. I understand, but we need to put fans in the seats too.

Fans would come to see winning teams well put together teams, not overpriced stars.

Varitek?

Has his name even come up at any point? If the Mets didn’t go for Jorge Posada last year I can’t see why they would go after Varitek, who is worse than Posada in every measurable way.

I’ll be honest, I am one of the “curmudgeons” who believes clubhouse chemistry plays a role (and I’m only 24!), but that wouldn’t excuse signing a soon-to-be 37 year old catcher who OPSed .672 last year. If his clubhouse presence is really that good, make him the bench coach…

and some idiot writer at metsblog said we didn’t win the division because we didn’t have team chemistry! i think all of that’s worth $12 MM a year, don’t you?
