Alou who? What's up with the signage?
Hey, Mets fans! What's up? I know, I know...a Cubs fan is the last person you want to hear from right now. And, believe it or not, I didn't come here to gloat. I think your team remains one of the best in the NL. I'd say your better hitters just had an off couple of days and, quite frankly, many of us Cubs fans are in just as much shock as you are at how productive our offense has been over the last five games.
In any case, I have a simple question for you all regarding this picture from yesterday's game:
Do any of you know why the Mets broadcasters hung an "Alou" sign under their booth? Is it a "get well soon" gesture? Is it some kind of odd swipe at Cubs fan -- an oblique Bartman reference perhaps? We're all rather confused over Bleed Cubbie Blue. Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Good luck on the rest of the season! See ya in September.

no idea.
It might help if you knew what broadcast crew used that booth—TV, radio, English, Spanish? In the absence of other evidence I’d guess it was a get-well-soon thing, but who knows?
Thanks for your wealth of responses, guys.
I guess I’ll just put this one alongside Amelia Earheart and Easter Island.
Nanika Ga Okoru!
this is obvious
mets announcers have a habit of peeing out the press box window. this is there way of trying to deflect blame to alou, who is never not peeing out of windows.
that metallic sheet hanging in front of the window is a privacy cover.
hope that helps!
Ha
I was at the game as well, and me and my friend (who is a Cubs fan) were both wondering the same thing.
