I heard about this episode. Seems like a bad path to go down if you’re a ballplayer. Fans in other parks likely will start to single him out.

Did that phonecam operator/narrator have a midwest accent or what? “Joe Smith heckling the fyans here. Somebody get me some pop.” Okay, I made that last part up.
By the way
I assume Smith will get run out of town by the media now? I mean, if high-fiving your own team’s fans is enough to do it, then certainly heckling another team’s fans is enough.

Probably not
Smith is white and has no rap songs to his credit. He’ll stick around until one or the other changes, or perhaps even until moving him actually makes sense from a baseball operations standpoint. That’d be sumthin’.
