yesterday's rainout

use the form from yesterday’s rainout

if you already filled that out, then those entries still are in effect

otherwise, hurry up and fill it out…

you might have to take this up with the commissioner's office

I can get you Gene Orza’s number if that’ll help

Game form

Last night’s game form is being applied to tonight’s game. You had to fill it out last night to get it in. This afternoon’s game form was for, well, this afternoon’s game.

I'm going to make 50 straight comments tonight

on the off chance that’s one of the mystery swag getters

you're failing to run out the slow grounder here

This shows a lack of determination, consistency, and hustle.

know your place

We can’t have our bloghouse dynamic poisoned by this kind of 24-plus-1 mentality.

I'm listening on WFAN, so no idea

It did seem like a dicey play and I wouldn’t be shocked if this were the case. Wright is a smart enough baserunner to keep running till he sees the sign, though.

He was out by a mile

The ball got past Griffey, and normally DW would score easily if he was running full tilt all the way. Perhaps he held up between 1st and 2nd thinking it might get caught? (SNY not giving us any replays)

an unlikely pitchers' duel

They say Arroyo is having lots of problems, but the Mets don’t seem to be seeing any.

Mets

just can’t seem to put it all together with any consistency. This has been true all year. This is the most bored I’ve been watching the Mets since the Art Howe era. Anybody else feel this way.

not really

They’re a good team this year—not a great team, though. I’m massively annoyed at the holes in the roster that are keeping the team from steamrolling over the NL, just because all of it should’ve been fixable over the last offseason; we should not be giving starts to players like Pagan and Chavez and Casanova when they could so easily be replaced. But I’m enjoying the team a lot this year despite its weaknesses. I like the starting rotation as well as I’ve liked any Met team’s pitching since we had Leiter and Hampton.

shitbags

Okay, this is less fun ever since the wrong team’s bullpen exploded. Goodnight, and congrats to Keppinger on the game of his career.

huh?

what in the world is going on? nobody in our lineup can hit consistently (save, ryan church), our bullpen is similar to a sorority girl on a tuesday, and we just have not gusto….can we get somebody in there to at least fire this team up? we look like a .500 team….
