I'm not sure who MGL is
But s/he seems to be neglecting the fact that it’s hardly just Joe Sheehan (who, generally speaking, knows what he’s talking about) who thinks Willie manages his bullpen poorly. I think everyone on this board realized last year that Schoeneweis is really good against lefties and really bad against righties before that nugget dawned on Willie, to use one example.
More generally, looking at Sheehan’s point that “Randolph isn’t a very good tactical manager,” I tend to feel the same way, at least because he loves giving away outs by bunting.
