tough one

they both benefit from playing in a launching pad, both suck at defense…damn.

Dunn, no question

He can hit it a country mile in any ballpark, launching pad or no.

That was last year...

I had tickets to the game but gave them to my dad and bro since I couldn’t go.

But here’s the one con for Dunn. Wouldn’t he make us terribly LH?

With a prospective OF of FMart – Beltran – Church, Reyes and Castillo up the middle, and Schneider behind the dish, that leave DWright as our only legit RH hitter.

good point

Well, hopefully Castillo will be out of the picture before long.

And what does Schneider’s contract look like? I’m not sold on him at all.

Maybe one or both of them could be replaced with a righty, I dunno.

actually, Castillo is switch, duh

So that wouldn’t really change the balance. Whatever, he sucks no matter what.

As Squad said, it was last year

My seven-pack tickets last year were right in that corner of the upper deck, I was sitting right there when it hit the scoreboard. Massive home run, longest I’ve ever seen in person.

I’m figuring this question assumes our 1B next year isn’t Teixeira. If it’s between Dunn and Burrell, I’d definitely pick Dunn. In addition to being younger, his career batting numbers are (marginally) better.

that happened last year

off Ollie Perez. I was at that game.

weather or not

Can any of the NY’ers provide us with a possible start time via SNY?

I’ll say neither of those two guys. I want Tex. But, I’d take Burrell over Dunn. Somehow, I feel Burrell would play a better 1B. I don’t know why.

i really doubt

that we get tex. the yanks want him and need him, and with giambi/abreu coming off the books they’ll have plenty to spend.

Why did Willie change the line up??

Ryan Church hitting in the two spot was starting to work. It was nice to finally have runners on base when Wright and Beltran came up.

Neither

I don’t like either one at first. I’d keep my eyes open throughout the season and see what comes along. One never knows, do one?

Why only talk about Dunn or Burrell? How about Texiera at 1st?

I was inspired by Eric's comment that Olerud had the best 3-year run as a Met outside Carlos Beltran to look at a few different Mets, and when I noticed that two of my all-time favorite players (Alfonzo and Strawberry) were kinda screwed by having (relatively)bad seasons in between some really good seasons, I decided to see which Mets had the best 3 seasons, period (non-consecutively). Beltran still comes out on top, but my all-time favorite player Alfonzo comes in 2nd place, and him and Straw are the only two to have three 6.0+ WAR seasons. Also interesting that Hundley comes out ahead of Gary Carter, Cleon Jones almost finishes ahead of Mike Piazza, and Joe McEwing doesn't make the list.
