OMG 7pm start
I practically assumed I had another three hours before we played this West Coast team again. Hooray for normal game time!
it's good to be the king
I’m still hoping to see him have an off night and end up just a prince or a duke or something.
I love MLB
Since I live in New Mexico, I get the D-Backs/Red Sox game on ESPN. But since I get FSN Arizona, my ESPN is on ESPN News. AND the D-Backs game is in a rain delay anyway.
So I have to watch on the computer. So stupid.
Okay Mets, you know the drill
I’ve got you down to win 5-4, so get crackin’. I have to keep the heat on anonymous and keep it honemoust like a hiphopopotamus.
stunning home run
Till now, the most stunning home run ever by a Mets opponent was Rick Camp in the 17th inning in that classic 19 inning 4th of July 1985 game against the Braves. This might top that. Opposite field against Santana by King Felix. Wow!!
does Wayne Hagin understand how baseball works?
“So, there will be no no-hitter for Felix Hernandez, despite the fact that he hit a grand slam.”
Why, was there some logical connection between those two things?
I think I'll just turn this into Fire Wayne Hagin until something more interesting happens
“The Mets are not getting it done with their bats against Felix Hernandez, so they’re going to have to try to do it another way.”
I take it all back
Looks like Beltran found the other way to get to Hernandez. Ugly, but I’ll take it at this point.
yeah
Reading over this, it looks a little in poor taste. Just for the record, I wasn’t suggesting that Beltran hit him intentionally or that I hope Hernandez is badly hurt. But I’m still kind of glad he’s not pitching the rest of the game, the way he was going.
no problem
you’re just commenting “gangsta style”

*tsk tsk tsk*
Add Keith to the list of people who didn’t read Moneyball but like to cite it as if they had.
what a hell of a game for me to tune in late to
anyone want to banter about santana, how perhaps he ain’t got it?
I.M. Forme
ok maybe not banter, but how bout a peep?
this place is dead

peep
Not much to say except I hope the Mets find their bats at some point.
so Santana's ERA
will actually go down. I would like to see MLB really press WHIP as a stat that is highlighted by the media. It’s a much better indicator of the success of failure of a pitcher. Same thing with OPS v. BA for hitters
Save America. Impeach Bush
How is this happening?
I can live with two hits off Hernandez. But no hits and only two walks against the bullpen?
this guy in LF is a (offensive) crook
how long til the Nixon experiment is over?

that's omar's job as i understand it
other than refreshing his resume, he should be making something happen. Alou is not “out” anymore than Tom Seaver is “out.” the outfield problems are all woefully predictable.
my job is to get crabby and complain a lot. which i do quite well thank you.

i bet you could
if you had an entire office and army of scouts at your disposal.

Time of game predictions for tomorrow
It’s Knuckleballer (You) R.A. Dickey – 1.54 WHIP vs. the charity walk-a-thon that is Oliver Perez – 1.55 WHIP. 3.5 hours?
my idea for tomorrow is unorthodox
Play vargas in right (hits as well as trot) and sub him in each time Ollie loses his shit. let ollie gather himself then return to the mound. Have Billy Wagner yell at Oliver all night from the bullpen.

Not a bad idea
Pitchers get enough practice shagging balls in BP. They couldn’t be worse than Todd Hundley in left
Jerry Manuel can't fix
Carlos Delgado.
I knew it was going to be tough to pin loss number 50 on the Seattle club.

You know how Wile E. Coyote feels when he chases the road runner off the cliff?
That’s the feeling I have with this lineup after Beltran!
That's why i can't get too upset
I don’t care what the names are or the payroll is. This is predictable production from the players who have been in the lineup most of the year. It’s .500 talent.
And, please, it’s dog “fertilizer”. You know, like Mets fans.
it's predictable but not tolerable
aren’t shane spencer and karim garcia available?

OT--this game really isn't worth talking about so i'm going to bitch about my fantasy league
this trade is going down in my fantasy league:
Soto, Morneau, H-Ram, Vlad, Manny, Matsui, Wagner
for
Mauer, Giambi, Milton Bradley, Willy Taveras (?!), David Murphy (...?), Joe Saunders (hello BABIP!), Salomon Torres
i’m fucking quitting if that doesn’t get vetoed. the guy in first place is getting Soto, Morneau, etc.
