I’m surprised Omar didn’t go after him harder. He doesn’t seem to want to go make many prospect-for-veteran moves, and this was a way that he could have bolstered the team without giving anybody up.
The time has come for someone to put his foot down. And that foot is me.

who cares
Admittedly, Delgado had been terrible against lefties, but Sexson was pretty mediocre against lefties in 2007 and 2006 (in much larger sample sizes than 2008). This deal makes even less sense for the Yankees than it would have for the Mets, as Giambi hits lefties at a decent clip, and is overall a much, much better hitter than Sexson.
Vote change: DePodesta/Acta in 2009!!!

Don't really care either
He has had a below average OPS+ for the past two seasons and has not played anywhere other than 1B or DH since 2000. And, as Ian points out, although he has been good in limited action against lefties this year, he was average against lefties last year and poor in 2006. I am also not sure who he would replace on the roster. I don’t think that he would have had any material impact on the team’s output this year.
