Binghamton Mets photos

While the Mets were flushing their season down the toilet against Philadelphia (again), the Binghamton Mets were playing an exciting game that they would eventually lose in 11 innings after coming back from an 8-2 deficit with three runs in the 8th and 9th. I took some picturs that you can see here: Binghamton Mets photos - 7/4/08 The first pitch was thrown out by Captain America. The game was sold out, with fireworks following the game. (Also: Those July 4 unis give a those awful major-league caps from yesterday a run for their money. Akron’s purple isn’t much better. It looks like the Globetrotters vs. Grimace in the side-by-side shots.)

I didn’t mind the B-Mets uniforms so much. When’s Carp-y gonna get a shot? Delgado’s 99 OPS+ still ain’t doing it for me.

Ah, the B-Mets

I caught a B-Mets game my freshman year in college (Binghamton being about an hour drive from school). Almost caught a foul pop. You definitely get the blue-collar minor league baseball town experience there (especially with the railroad yards right behing the OF wall).

I’m pretty sure the final score was 11-4 in favor of Trenton in that game.
