kind of a harsh poll question
i mean…the team’s in first and they had won 10 of their last 11. they’re not going to win ’em all.
that being said, i voted for “really fucking pathetic.”
well, nuts to last night
Let’s Go Mets!

Last night was gonna happen
Nothing last forever, people.
For instance, Catsmeat’s swag contest lead will last until the end of the month when he wins. Ha! Good work little brother.
"The people of Houston are spending money like oil's selling at $40 a barrel."
I do what I can
Games like last night are no help but almost everyone sucked last night so no big deal.
Except Beelzebot – all picking again the Mets and getting 60 points.

Also,
nice to hear Keith back in the booth. I’m pretty much over Gary/Ron solo games forever.

was he serious?
Did Jose lose a bet or something? That was absurd.
I was wondering
something in the scouting report that Bernie Williams was in center-field today?

Too early to be clutch!
nice one Bel-TRON!

hold on
Wright’s walk was clutch.
The HR was just stats-padding.
Selfish baseball on his part
There is no BELTRAN in TEAM!
"The people of Houston are spending money like oil's selling at $40 a barrel."
so goddamn UNCLUTCH
meaningless bomb in the first. come on. save that shit for the 7th, please.
That's what I was thinking.
Beltran has no sense of propriety or clutchness. What if the Mets need like two runs in the bottom of the 8th?
"The people of Houston are spending money like oil's selling at $40 a barrel."
well, it's really too bad about Reyes now
Obviously he was trying to be too clutch.
awesome
kiner’s gonna be in the booth today. i understand about half of what he says. good stories though.
did you guys know
Tatis is the only guy to hit two…
I was thinking
birds with one stone.
It’s harder than it sounds.
what if
in this quantum-mechanical, non-intuitive universe where an effect sometimes precedes its cause, it actually is more conducive to winning to have a scrappy clubhouse leader who grinds out hits and fosters good chemistry than to have a big stats producer?
I would feel kinda silly.
not really
But what if there is a non-quantifiable phenomenon (we could call it an "Edge") where a player is “Driven” to win, mostly by playing the game the right way and wanting it more?
Just like how we can’t predict what happens to all the subatomic particles, we may never understand how to measure a player’s heart with today’s technology.
yes, exactly
They can make Scary Movie 5 but can’t bankroll that movie?
what happened to Moneyball?
I thought they were making it, but I can’t find anything to suggest production ever began.
Wigginton is "scrappy"
Reyes is just good.
I don't consider a Beltran hit to be clutch
unless it’s a grand slam in the bottom of the 9th with a full count and the Mets were trailing by 3 beforehand.
If Beltran did this in the top of the 9th, however, it would not be clutch.
and there have to be 2 outs, obviously
And really, it’s only clutch in the NLCS — doing it in the regular season doesn’t really count either.
Good points
Although I don’t think it would be clutch if Beltran did that in the NLCS. He’s already shown that he couldn’t produce in one specific at bat, so we already know he can’t be clutch in the NLCS.
Beltran has to do that with 2 outs in Game 7 of the World Series. Against the Yankees. Otherwise he isn’t clutch.
comparison
to great a young pitcher who did end up blowing out his shoulder at age 27 and was never the same
tune on over to WFAN
It’s refreshing to hear Eddie Coleman call a few innings — though, be warned, the Haginator continues to step all over his play-by-play.
nice work
walk the guy with the sub .300 OBP. fuck this.
Ausmus
That was unfortunately Schneideresque.
... and the punter kicks a field goal
I think I made a mistake there: it was really Feliciano who was being batting-practice-esque.
