AA Day at Shea - Yet Again (9/6/08)!
Hello, friends,
Ian B in MD (and Mrs. Ian B in MD), kingcritical and yours truly, Mr. Claude Cattermole "Catsmeat" Potter-Pirbright, are attending the base-ball contest next Saturday, the 6th of September 2008, between our New York Metropolitans and the hated Philadelphia Phillies. Our tickets have already been purchased. However, we are planning to meet up at some point before the 3:55 p.m. start-time at a local watering hole (kingcritical will have those details, of which I am still unawares).
So while there are a mere few of us at this point, we welcome anyone else who is: (a) happening to be in the area; or (b) planning to attend the game. Please use this thread to let us know if you want to join us.
Cheers,
Catsmeat.

Fix your post, brother
“Saturday, the 9th of September 2008” You mean the 6th. Don’t forget that for us it is also “Ignore Our Sister on Her Birthday Day 2008”

Hey, I'm already going to that game.
My friend’s bringing about 8-10 people for his birthday.

I'm going the night before
It’ll be my last game at Shea, barring any playoff purchases that my grad student finances can afford.

Not sure if
I will be able to meet before the game, but if you plan on drinking after the game I should be around.

Agh
All pre-game for me – my flight home leaves at 10:30 so unless the game ends at 6 that leaves me no wiggle-room for post-game shenanigans.

Hey king!
Have you settled on a meet-up place yet?

yeah, I'm thinking the Gaslight on Queens Boulevard
It’s between 43rd and 44th, right between the 40th and 46th Street stations on the 7 train (address is 43-17 Queens Boulevard). It’s got a nice little backyard, assuming we get nice weather. And they pour a good Guinness.
So, for the 3:55 game we should get on the train no later than 3:15. Shall we plan to meet there between 1:00 and 1:30 (or whenever you get there from the aeroport)? We can order a pizza or some sandwiches if folks want something to eat.

Yeah that sounds good
My flight is scheduled for a 12:30 arrival so somewhere between 1/1:30 should work from my end of things.

Rain
We had a rain-out yesterday, but a few of us showed up at the Gaslight for a few rounds, which was enjoyable. Catsmeat, my wife and I modified our schedules and will go to the game this afternoon. Lets go Mets!
