but in fairness to Aaron he has been overworked like a fiend the last few years and he must have a dead and/or hurt arm

i think he led all players (in spring training that is) in homers. GM kevin towers for the Padres sent him down to the minors even though he had more homers than the entire Padres team during SP and the Padres fans were irate! if it’s one thing they needed, it was offense and he got sent down before the 1st game of the season. he’s a basher. he was at the university of Tennessee anyway.

santana can hit better than he can bunt. if he hits into a DP, so what? we’ve turned the lineup over and already grabbed the lead.

with our bullpen, we need to try to score as many runs as we can and Santana ain’t a hitter. He should be able to help himself better than that.

If Santana were Oliver Perez, the bunt would make great sense. But he’s more like Mike Hampton as a hitter. Remember, he played shortstop before he pitched.
