Let's go Mets!

We've got ourselves a ball club, the Mets of New York town!

Tough to be at that game last night?

'Catsmeat!' he cried. 'I see it all. It was that chump, Catsmeat.'

by Catsmeat Potter-Pirbright on Aug 7, 2008 12:07 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

yeah, they were pretty lifeless

They sucked the last time I went to a game with DoctorK16. Maybe we should stop going to Shea together.

by kingcritical on Aug 7, 2008 12:08 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Sounds fair

You two are banned from Shea as a duo. A painful loss is the reason Ian B and I won’t bring Smart Water into the games anymore.

'Catsmeat!' he cried. 'I see it all. It was that chump, Catsmeat.'

by Catsmeat Potter-Pirbright on Aug 7, 2008 12:09 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

ha

I don’t know what I would do if I couldn’t bring Smartwater into Shea. It really helps my Saturday afternoon hangovers on the train and in the park.

Don't you just love

a 9 pitch at-bat for Scott Hairston? Who the fuck is Scott Hairston?

'Catsmeat!' he cried. 'I see it all. It was that chump, Catsmeat.'

by Catsmeat Potter-Pirbright on Aug 7, 2008 12:13 PM EDT   0 recs

It's not anger

It’s confusion.

'Catsmeat!' he cried. 'I see it all. It was that chump, Catsmeat.'

by Catsmeat Potter-Pirbright on Aug 7, 2008 12:14 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

hmmm

“fuck” does denote both confusion…and anger

Scott Hairston

He is of the Baseball-Playing Hairstons.

The Hairston family is one of only three families (along with the Boone family and the Bell family) to have had three generations of major league players.

We've got ourselves a ball club, the Mets of New York town!

by kingcritical on Aug 7, 2008 12:15 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

I mean it was really a rhetorical question

But I was not aware that he was third generation. I thought only second.

'Catsmeat!' he cried. 'I see it all. It was that chump, Catsmeat.'

by Catsmeat Potter-Pirbright on Aug 7, 2008 12:17 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

his grandpa was a Negro Leaguer, really

But I guess since he also played a bit in the majors after desegregation, it counts.

by anonymous on Aug 7, 2008 12:22 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

a major league player

who probably is able to foul off pitches?

poll question on Heilman

Is my beer league a possible answer?

by Endys Game on Aug 7, 2008 12:14 PM EDT   0 recs

Are you sure you'd actually want him?

There’s no guarantee he’d be any better there.

'Catsmeat!' he cried. 'I see it all. It was that chump, Catsmeat.'

by Catsmeat Potter-Pirbright on Aug 7, 2008 12:15 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

i'd let him join my adult kickball league

at least that way he wouldn’t have to use his arm. he would be our designated kicker

"OVER A BILLION SERVED" ;-)

by LOUtheMETSfan on Aug 7, 2008 12:17 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

I was waiting for 'Hell' as one of the choices

but in fairness to Aaron he has been overworked like a fiend the last few years and he must have a dead and/or hurt arm

by Simons on Aug 7, 2008 12:22 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

yes

I think it might be time to give Aaron (1) some rest and (2) another shot as a starter. Working almost every day in relief doesn’t seem to be helping his value or his durability.

by anonymous on Aug 7, 2008 12:25 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

well

I thought the same thing but Eric’s post kind of shows that he has only been overworked slightly if at all and not to the point where he should be this awful.

by Endys Game on Aug 7, 2008 12:25 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

yes but

he has only be overworked a bit as you said. 6th in the league in innings and some of it like that Saint Louis game recent. No excuse for him being this bad and it started from day one.

by Endys Game on Aug 7, 2008 12:46 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

two Ks for Johan

Call me an optimist, but

I always take the over on a question like that,

anyone have direct tv?

does the FUCKING signal give out just because of a tiny thunderstorm?

now Catsmeat. the use of “fucking” in this post is of anger

"OVER A BILLION SERVED" ;-)

by LOUtheMETSfan on Aug 7, 2008 12:18 PM EDT   0 recs

Don't switch to DISH

The signal rarely goes out, but it’ll happen at the end of an important game (and sometimes for no reason).

it's beltran's fault

he got a mere single to right. how does that help us??!?

What was he thinking?

A single? Really, Carlos?

Wright's fault

if he had been sober and hustling, he could have scored on Beltran’s drive

what a waste of f'n money

i guess i’ll post vicariously through those of you who can watch the game

We just gave up another homer to fucking Chase Headley.

yes

and Jody Gerut almost went yard again as well. That boy has to be on the juice.

by Endys Game on Aug 7, 2008 12:31 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

he was killing the ball in spring training.

i think he led all players (in spring training that is) in homers. GM kevin towers for the Padres sent him down to the minors even though he had more homers than the entire Padres team during SP and the Padres fans were irate! if it’s one thing they needed, it was offense and he got sent down before the 1st game of the season. he’s a basher. he was at the university of Tennessee anyway.

NOOOO

this other Reyes can’t play second base!!! And did he just hurt Tatis??

by Endys Game on Aug 7, 2008 12:33 PM EDT   0 recs

what happened?

Did they collide?

'Catsmeat!' he cried. 'I see it all. It was that chump, Catsmeat.'

I’m starting to wonder if he’s actually a skilled second baseman.

someone should start a blog on the day to day activities of Luis Castillo

who as far as i know is healthy and being stashed away in the minors by the same mets management that signed him to a fat multiyear deal.

I mean, where do you think Marlon Anderson went? The “DL” ? Yeah, and El Duque’s pitching the season finale in September, too
