Save us, Carlos Voltron!
Ain’t much to say after last night . . . Let’s Go Mets! Ya Gotta Believe!
'Catsmeat!' he cried. 'I see it all. It was that chump, Catsmeat.'

Gotta Believe!
Well, here I am again. Work is suffering more than usual because of how much I am living and dying with the Mets.
C’mon Pedro, give us something good. The Old Pedro.

Well
It looks like Queens is gonna get nailed with heavy rain soon . . . maybe we’ll get a night off from the struggling.

Wow, Shea looks like it is going to get pounded
It does not look good for tonight or the next several days with all of the rain.

I see some green blobs on the Wundermap
but not enough to stop the game yet.

ROTFL at the poll question
That pretty much sums up my week, since my non-Mets-related life hasn’t been awesome, either. But none of that matters right now. Go Petey, go bats, go defense, go bullpen!

Is this the part where I say
Lets Go Mets?
I’m not feeling it. Maybe I’ll search YouTube for some old Rhengold & Plymouth Duster commercials. Where did I put my Lindsay Nelson sport jacket?

I'm getting tired of saying "Let's Go Mets"
If they make the playoffs, I’ll be more enthusiastic about it. But right now I’m saying “Let’s GO Mets!!!” while gritting my teeth.

The punishment will continue until morale improves
…Can we come up w/something better than; “Ya gotta believe”?

It is lame
But we’re the Mets. That’s how we roll. Instead of something like “We shall prevail”, we have something that sounds like a nagging mother.

Rally Monkey? Screw it, we need the rally Gorilla. Go Mets.
Mets, rising to the occasion in 2008 or at least trying harder to get runners home form third with no outs in the bottom of the ninth.
I jest. It aint close to over. C’mon pedro. Get us to the promised land. He has got to have one more masterpiece in him.

On PTI they asked the question:
Who would you rather see win the series? Cubs or Rays.
Dan Lebatard said he wanted the Rays to win because if the Cubs win that would mean that there would be no team to feel sorry for.
I’m afraid that the METS may be filling that bill if they don’t make it to the playoffs this year and also because of the OMAR extension

yes
the point of the “clutch”/“unclutch” debate isn’t that there no such thing as a clutch situation, which clearly there is, but that there is no such thing as innate clutch ability, which is the point of contention
by JoshNY on Sep 25, 2008 8:48 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
well put.
in other words, there are plenty of clutch situations, but when the mets fail at them over and over, it is more due to chance than any innate ability or inability. Right?

i see both sides
Although I understand the role of chance in the game, i cling to the stubborn beliefs that some players are able to elevate their perfomances at high stress times (because that’s what atheletes do with varying degrees of sucess) while I suffer from the suspicion that those players are always on other teams (grass always greener theorum). In other words, I’m a typical schlub of a fan.
