First!

No t.v. tonight…

I’ll be living vicariously through everyone’s pointed and humrous blogs.

…and perhaps some imaginative gifs?

is that Santana or a ground's crewman?

…oh, by the looks of his kicks, that’s got to be a ground’s crewman.

You gif so well.

Lou

isn’t that Robin ventura, my favorite met ever, with his mike piazza outfit on?

For some reason, I'm really begnning to hate Ryan Braun

Perhaps it’s the way he watches his HR’s. Can’t stand that.

weather update gang?

I do see a system building up way to the southwest in Salsbury, MD but the doppler on Wunderground isn’t showing anything in New York.

What’s going on?

After taking a look at the Cubs lineup tonight compared to last night...

…. it’s pretty obvious what Lou’s intent is….

So I’ll make you a deal: if the Mets make the playoffs and the Brewers stay home, please kick the crap out of the Cubs for us. Sweep, if possible. If the Mets end up playing the Cubs again, I’ll be the biggest Mets fan west of Lake Michigan and east of the Mississippi.

I have an unreasonable dislike of Bill Hall.

It is something.

Man it is not easy to watch both this debate and this game. They both stink.

Umm . . .

only six days until I leave for Oktoberfest? That’s comforting!

really i watched just about every game like i do every year, traveled to 3 cities to see this club, etc.

i can’t say how much more emotional devastation i can take really.

I said to someone at work today

I’d almost rather the Mets crashed out this weekend so I could attend Oktoberfest without having to think about the Mets crashing out of the play-offs while I was away.

It’s not true, of course, because I want them to make the play-offs. But still it has been tough to sit through all of this.

And, of course, Philly wins. Blergh.

I hate when they do that

All telling us how they spoke to Mary Jo Whatshernut from Heartland, America and she asked that they remember to mention her name on national television. Ick.

Hee hee . . . McCain said “straight talk.” Can’t give it up, I guess.

Don't agree with calling Reagan a bozo, but

I hate the personal interest stories. So irrelevant, and frankly, insulting intellectually.

Well, I might miss the greatest comeback of all time but I can’t watch any of this shit anymore tonight. I think I’m gonna watch a Simpsons rerun.

And, yeah, go Cubs I guess. Fucking Marlins.

What's the "Senator McCain is absolutely right"

count? I mean, seriously. I think Obama is wrong in most of his policies, but come on. You’ve got a good majority of the country behind you. Why are you conceding ground?

It's my theory

that Obama’s entire campaign is to play it safe, since all the indicators suggest that the Democratic Party should be able to win this election easily.

i agree

mccain is a sitting duck, like the Mets at the hands of the mighty Marlins.
John’s argument seems to be that he has visited some places and met some folks.

Debate:

Obama wins economy.
McCain wins foreign policy.

Mets lose =(

hopefully not

by JohnPeterson on Sep 26, 2008 10:36 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

i dunno about foreign policy

that’s my field and nothing he said made any sense. the republicans foreign policy last 7 years has been an unmittigated disaster according to nearly every one in the international relations field, conservative or liberal. He plans to continues these policies.

unless this country has some ridiculous hidden reserves somewhere burried in a fucking mountain

how do you continue to have wars of preemption and bail out the economy at the same time?

by LOUtheMETandNATSfan on Sep 26, 2008 10:42 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

eh I disagree

But the debate isn’t about reality anyway. It’s about perception. And McCain was all specific, and Obama was all “I agree with Senator McCain.”

by JohnPeterson on Sep 26, 2008 10:44 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

i don't think Obama did as well as he could havebut

Mccain was hardly specific about anything but some tired stories about how he had been to these places and some stupid semantics about high level meetings. Omaba actually itemized what he would do, though i think he fell into the mcbain trap of distraction. I wouldn’t feel comfy about a McBain foreign policy if I were you.
