Brewers lose, but Ollie Perez?

Let's hope the good Ollie shows up.  There are some eery conincidentals about this year's game 162 and last years.  Like last year, we have an unreliable lefty who is in his walk year carrying our fate in his arm.  I hope Ollie really wants a big contract wherever he goes next year and wants to earn it tomorrow.  For some reason though, I feel  magic in the air.  Ya Gotta Believe!!  Let's Go Mets!

Monday?

CC going tomorrow for my Brewers, but the Cubbies have hit him well before and you have to wonder when all these short rest starts are going to catch up with him. Lou says he’s going to run bull pen guys out to the mound tomorrow to spare his starters. We’ll see. The Brewers frequently struggle with pitchers they haven’t seen before (or even if it’s just been a while) so I’m not sure that’s an advantage…

I’m curious though, who would you guys start on Monday if it comes to playoff? Sveum has said the Brewers will mix and match relievers, but my guess is they’ll bring Yovanni Gallardo back on 4 days rest with McClung and anyone else they can scrape up to fill in when YoGa gets pulled in the 4th.

I have an unreasonable dislike of Bill Hall.

we have no idea

It would be two days rest after Pelfrey’s most recent start, one day rest for Santana, zero for Perez. The candidates all have flaws. Pedro would only be on three days rest and hasn’t been all that great in any case. Jon Niese has had one good start and two bad (one of them against the Brewers). John Maine would be making his first appearance since going on the DL, what, a month ago or so? Brandon Knight and Nelson Figueroa (is he still even with the team?) just aren’t very good.

That sounds really familiar.

The only thing I know for certain at this point about the potential Monday game is that it won’t be Ben (“I got a broke arm. I got a broke arm.”) Sheets or CC. Bush threw yesterday for 4 innings, so he’s probably out too, as is Parra. that leaves YoGa and McClung, and maybe Carlos Villanueva as the options, depending on when CC gets pulled today. If CC is pulled early, Villanueva will almost certainly throw a couple of innings or more.

I have an unreasonable dislike of Bill Hall.

It's a total crapshoot

As Josh said: Johan, Ollie, and Pelf are out. Pedro could possibly go, but his arm is extremely fragile and he hasn’t been very good anyway. Maine might get the call, but who knows what he would be like? Niese is too inexperienced, in my opinion, to start a game of that magnitude. That leaves Figgy, Knight, and…Aaron Heilman?!
