LET'S GO METS! YA GOTTA BELIEVE!! WHATEVER IT TAKES!!!
What else can I say? I hope we win. I hope the players take the field with unbridled enthusiasm. Have fun guys, but remain focused. Good luck to to the players and the fans at Shea today. I won’t be able to view the game in its entirety. I’m nervous for these guys and the fans.
I hope we win and that Milwaukee loses.
All the best!

I'm excited and nervous.
I finally watched my Shea Goodbye DVD that I won as swag a few months ago.

Hey Eric
Is there someway to view yesterday’s game? Does the METS organization or MLB sell DVD’s of previous games? I’d love to view it.

No swag here but...
I feel more a part of the METS family than I ever have.
The blog has made me more of fan than I’ve ever been. I’m from Knoxville, TN where Volunteer football is king but, this means as much to me as any Volunteer game. Damn man, I hope we win!!

Son!
What the heck happened in Athens last night? I was pulling for Georgia. Alabama, I can’t stand and you obviously know why.
What’s wrong w/Tennessee football? Two things:
- Offensive Coordinator
- Jonathan Crompton (QB)
Anytime they wanna put in Nick Stephens from Flower Mound, TX is alright with me.

Last night was ugly
If only the game had been 5 quarters, then Georgia would have won. I’m going down to Athens for the Vandy game in a few weeks – so pumped!

Where the hell did they come from?
Hugh sea change in the SEC. West dominating east:
Ole Miss over Florida
Alabama over Georgia
Auburn over Tennessee

The Georgia-LSU game later this year will be huge though. SEC championship preview there.

Do you know how much hate is going to be in that game? LOL! Gonna be a good one. Did you hear about the huge contract that ESPN got for televising SEC games?

No, that's news to me.
I love how tough the SEC is, but it’s basically impossible to go undefeated there. I wish there were more patsies for the Dawgs to beat up on.

Just more reason for a playoff system.
I advocated for an eight team playoff using the Bowl games (ROSE, SUGAR, FIESTA & ORANGE) as the initial playoff games. The following weekend would be the semi-final games and the Championship game would be played on the weekend before the super bowl.
No one’s listening to me though.

You remember 1999?
The Mets won a nail-biter at home, but the Brewers/Reds game was delayed by SNOW. I drove from Shea to Annapolis, MD and still got to see the Reds game.

Ollie and the sense of occasion
I think Perez is the single Met that I’d be most likely to buy a “clutch” argument about. The guy just seems to have trouble concentrating during mid-season games sometimes, where he’ll pitch a horrible inning because he’s not focussing on getting every batter out. Doesn’t seem to happen on the big stage with the crowd cheering him on.

Oh, man
Couldn’t even get the break there.
by Prince on Sep 28, 2008 4:30 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Alright
Runner on second, Voltron to the plate.
by Eric Simon on Sep 28, 2008 4:31 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
OMG
That would have been a triple. But it’s something.
by Prince on Sep 28, 2008 4:31 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Two bad breaks in a row.
Come on, we need another one ClutchTron!
by JohnPeterson on Sep 28, 2008 4:31 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Brewers win
Best we can do now is the one-game playoff. Unlikely as that seems.
by anonymous on Sep 28, 2008 4:34 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Come on...
we need a home run here Delgado.
by JohnPeterson on Sep 28, 2008 4:34 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
I'll settle for a double
Of the non-ground-rule variety.
by Eric Simon on Sep 28, 2008 4:34 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Arthur Rhodes
… seems almost like he belongs in the Mets’ bullpen at this point. Let’s hope he can rival their performance today.
by anonymous on Sep 28, 2008 4:35 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
actually I take it back
Holy crap, the dude has an ERA just above 2 for the year.
by anonymous on Sep 28, 2008 4:36 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
We need a non-out.
Let’s hold off the negative talk until it’s over, please.
by JohnPeterson on Sep 28, 2008 4:36 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Hit away from or over the shift.
The butcher and the baker and the people on the street, where did they go? To meet the Mets!

fuck.
Delgado gave it a ride, just like the Mets did with my hopes this year, but it ended up dying on the track.
by anonymous on Sep 28, 2008 4:38 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
It isn't fucking over yet
Endy will hit something next inning.
by BlackOps on Sep 28, 2008 4:38 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
so can we start the discussion of which loss hurts more
07 or 08

to be a Mets fan
is to know pain. I’m still stuck on pitching Seaver with 3 days rest in 1973 WS.

No
You can leave until the game is over, though.
by Eric Simon on Sep 28, 2008 4:39 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
oh ye
of way too much faith. They’ll be down 4 runs before they come up. Watch

No
They are going to win this game, and then the wildcard tomorow.
by BlackOps on Sep 28, 2008 4:42 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
well they might only be trailing by 2
but they are not going to win this game. They are cooked. Done. Fried. Dead men walking

sorry i can’t muster anymore

you think Heilman
is coming in. That would be a good way to close out Shea Stadium. That makes it all the worse that they smell up the place on the day they celebrate its closing. This team smells worse than the bathrooms at Shea

Ayala's a better symbol of Omar's flaws, really
since he’s an old guy Omar semi-inexplicably fell in love with as an Expo.

If/when the Mets lose
are you guys gonna watch the closing ceremony? I probably will.
by Prince on Sep 28, 2008 4:43 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Why can't the Mets not hurt me for once?
by JohnPeterson on Sep 28, 2008 4:44 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
they'll always hurt you
I would recommend percocet

To those who think Omar should get a break because
he made great moves that’s not the point. He was given loads of money to make a great team. This he nas not done. He should be fired.

Colon, Sizemore, Lee, Phillips.

be fair
he thought the team wasn’t going exist in a year. How do you plan for the future in that environment.
by DoctorK16 on Sep 28, 2008 4:47 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
So he happened to trade
3 future studs. Do you want to see anybody in management back next year. It’s an insult to the fans to give him a 4 year contract and announce it unofficially before the end of the year. Wilpon owes the fans an apology. NObody should step foot in Citifield next year if Omar is around until 2012.

I think 4 years is too long.
Is Omar and Jerry perfect no. But I fear for who they could bring in here. We could get McIvaine part deux. I want a new bullpen next year though and a legit second baseman.
by DoctorK16 on Sep 28, 2008 4:54 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Seriously
I’m kind of ambivalent towards the Omar era at Shea, but taking a picture of a guy on his worst day and saying, “Hey, this is Omar” is pretty unfair.
by Eric Simon on Sep 28, 2008 4:48 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
It is unfair, but...
When there are a bunch of really bad days surrounded by 89 wins, how am I suppose to feel?
