REDDING SIGNING

It's funny to me to see this response to the Redding signing.  The Phillies let Kyle Losh go to FA, he didn't pitch bad for them but they thought he wasn't worth a contract.  He was a guy that I was hoping the Mets would look at last off season.  He was finally signed late in the offseason by St. Louis and proceeded to go 15-6.  I think the Redding signing for the Mets will work out the same way.  Our offense is better than the Nationals, our bullpen is now better than the Nationals.  I think Redding is going to be the biggest suprise of the offseason.  Not to mention he was 3-1 against the Phillies last year.

As a Mets fan in D.C.

He’ll probably do better here because of the Mets supporting cast. I don’t have a problem w/him in the 5th spot. But that doesn’t mean we don’t need another above average SP.

SEMPER FI

23 years and counting. 0311 with a brain. 3 tours across the pond. I hear what your saying. Lowe is still priorty # 1. I think they will get it done and don’t look for them to stop there. Manny got a call from Omar and was told not to except anything right away, be patient and the Mets will be there when the SP situation is rectified.

"...Manny got a call from Omar..."

Leatherneck, you better have a source and / or some serious Intel to back that up or your a$$ is gonna get reamed on this blog. (Just a heads up)

Lou makes a good point.

I’ve seen this assertion about Manny and Omar twice this week. A link is always appreciated.

'Oh yes, I know all about that duty-of-a-citizen stuff. It doesn't go. There are exceptions to every rule, and this was one of them. When a man risks his liberty to come and root at a ball-game, you've got to hand it to him. He isn't a crook. He's a fan.'

REALLY!

Didn’t mean for anyone to take that literally. It’s a feeling I have. Manny knows that there is not much interest, so why hasn’t he taken the 2yr 45mil from the Dodgers, I think there is something keeping him from jumping the gun. He wants to be a Met, Omar wants him, just look at all the interest Omar has shown over the past couple of years. I honestly feel that Omar is working on the Wilpons as we write.

"Chuckling" (people seem to hate "LOLing") Not laughing @ you, laughing w/you. ;-)

Feelings work on this blog as much as clutch hitting and grittiness.

This place is a haven for “fact based” information my friend.

Ah Kenny!

You got me pegged man. :-)

1. Jarheads (Marines) always take care of each other. Once I saw his avatar, I wanted to make sure I brought him into the fold properly.
2. I’ve learned – the hard way – how to be a better blogger. Especially on this site. I’m still learning.
3. You should have seen how excited I got yesterday when the thread about the lousy patch came out. The thread “BLOSSOMED” with pics at the very outset! I almost pee’d in my underoos!

There is something wrong with that picture.

I’m half expecting Chris Hanson to ring my doorbell.

"Laughing" Oh my god. :-)

I didn’t know who the hell Chris Hanson was until I looked it up. Are you telling me you know the guys name right off the bat? I’ve seen his show from time to time but never paid attention to what his name was. Let me guess, you love his show, don’t you? It’s o.k. Bobby. You can tell Uncle Lou.

THANKS FOR THE HEADS UP

I hope that this is the first of many great conversations about our beloved Mets. Speaking of good conversations, I’m starting to get antsy on the Lowe thing, I’m hoping that some kind of offer comes out of Atlanta today so that we can see what Omar and the crew are going to do.

by NCbillzfan55 on Jan 12, 2009 2:33 PM EST reply actions

I'm no longer antsy

I’m convinced Omar really doesn’t think there’s a big difference between Lowe and Perez and will happily pay Perez 10-12 million per rather than paying Lowe 14-15 million.

OLIVER

I’m sorry but Oliver is not yet worth 10-12. 150 walks last year. That will not cut it when your trying to dethrone the Phils. It’s not the number of walks that bother me, it’s the timing of those walks. It has to be Lowe, get er done Omar!!!

GREAT

I define great as inteligent, insightful threads that enlighten all who read. Not always agreeable but debating that is heated without being rude or demeaning. Sarchasm is always welcomed!

Heated? Oh yeah, you'll find that here.

Spell check is useful too:
“Intelligent”
“Sarcasm”
