Strike
I believe the strike was in 1981, the year of the two half-seasons, not 1982. It actually looks like you marked the right place but wrote the wrong caption.

Meh
It could be worse than that. Several respected franchises (Orioles, Mariners, PHILLIES-.470!) have worse percentages.

True.
After taking a look at ALL of the other teams overall winning percentages, it’s not that bad.
Then again, we’re only one-one thousandth of a point better than the Washington Nationals / Montreal Expos.

Expos
were actually pretty good during the 80’s and early 90’s. It wasn’t till after the strike in ’94 that they went in the tank for good.
Meh
One playoff series win (1981) while in existence?
I guess it depends on how we want to define pretty good.

From 1979-1994
The Expos were 1326-1167, a .532 winning percentage. They had 4 90+ win seasons and were well on their way to a 5th in ‘94 when the strike happened. They would have been the wild card 4 times had there been a wild-card during that time frame, and I guarantee they would have won a few more playoff games had that occurred. I didn’t say they were a great team, but they were, in the aggregate, at least as good as the Mets over that span – more consistent but w/o the extreme heights of the ’86 season.
Received.
I got it.
You’re a the cup is 1/2 full kind of guy.
And I’m going to give you credit for your use of the word aggregate.

I like the trend
While there have been ups and downs, the long term trend clearly suggests that the Mets should be averaging around 100 wins a season by around 2020.

yes.
