Maine gave the Mets a $.1 break
Thought they would just split down the middle at $2.6. Not a big deal, but got to love his attitude as compared to this guy

what a D-bag
I’m glad to see the Mets got a slight bargain in this. Despite his flaws, I’m a big Maine fan, and hope he can stay healthy and get past the 5th inning this year.

Eh if Maine was coming off the season Hamels is
I definitely wouldn’t have an issue with him wanting a bigger raise. They overpaid Howard a year or two ago, bumping his salary up to 900,000 when they didn’t have to after his MVP season. I would say Hamels deserves it more.

The quote was from last year
before Hamels was even eligible for arbitration. Howard is an odd situation since he was blocked by Thome and made the show a bit later than he should’ve, making his experience/age out of whack.

Nice.
Maybe now he can upgrade his room at the Ramada. Now let’s hope for good health and putting batters away a little bit faster in 2009.

When he's in D.C. for a Nats game and decides to take residence at The Mayflower
It might behoove him to ask for the Spitzer rate.

Benson Trade
Considering what he’s done the past few years, I love the Kris Benson trade more and more. The Mets got John Maine on the cheap, and he’s still real cheap, considering.
