Does it really matter what the Dodgers doctors thought?
The Mets doctors had examined him before he played in those rehab games in St. Lucie in which he aggravated the injury. It wasn’t the Dodger doctors that gave him the go-ahead to play again.

But
why were the Mets only calling it a calf injury when a hamstring tendon tear had already been discovered? And why was Jeff Wilpon trying to shift blame to the Dodgers?
The most important question for me is:
Why was he playing once the Mets knew the extent of his injury?

He hurt himself in a rehab game two weeks later, he played more rehab games in early august.
The Mets then had him attempting to run the bases in the last week of the season. While he didn’t play an ML game, this is what I was referring to.
