This is sorta scraping the bottom of the barrel, isn't it?

It's a long offseason, brother
If you think this is the bottom of the barrel, wait until mid-January.
I look forward to reading
about Elliott Maddox’ tenure with the Mets and his conversion to Judaism later in life.

Is that when we can expect the next installment of "Top 50 Mets"?
(ducks, runs).

Top 50 Mets!
That’s how I found this site. Wow, long time ago. Has David Wright passed Steve Trachsel yet?

Yeah
that list needs a major revision by now. Wright is probably in the top 10 already.
"We must win and we must know how to win rather than win because we have statistical people."
I think, to save yourself a little trouble,
make it an in depth top 20 and just go through numbers 50 through 21 with quick info on them, like two or three short paragraphs and their numbers.
"We must win and we must know how to win rather than win because we have statistical people."
Of course not.
Haven’t you heard? David Wright’s a loser, the suckiest suck that ever sucked. That’s why we need to trade him, so we can finally win the World Series.

I thought we were only going through 20 with that.

I loved me some Sid
he pitched the first Mets game I ever went to, against the Expos. I also liked Jose Valentin, even if he did start the trend of Omar getting roped in by a great bargain performance and then handing out a big contract to a guy who everybody else knew would never repeat that performance. So thanks, I guess, Jose.

92?
El Sid was my favorite pitcher and I don’t remember anything about his ’92 season.

The Top 50 Mets series is so old
it uses VORP

There's a mom joke in there somewhere
Happy birthday El Sid! He was always one of my favorites.
You don't cheer for the Mets. You drink for the Mets.
Hey this was interesting
As a younger Mets fan, I never knew how consistently-pretty-good Sid was. And Jose, yeah well, 3.4 WAR is always going to net a decent contract, notwithstanding your lightning-in-a-bottle status.
