I'm not sure how this idea would work in baseball
minor league teams’ personnel decisions are almost all controlled by the parent club. The things the owners are involved with are the promotion and management of the team locally, which is not something I would think the average fan is interested in, or would have any expertise in.
I also would not want Mets fans running the Mets. Oh Lord…
I think what they're going for
Is an independent team for starters. Maybe if all goes well, then they’ll build on it with something bigger.
As far as wanting to own the Mets goes, only regular users of this site should get that privilege. The end.
