So . . . they are meeting with him this week.
What’s the problem?

I miss Joe Smith
Though his extremely plain name isn’t as good as the ethnically charged J.J. Putz, his continued good pitching out of the bullpen is always a nice thing. Those seven years he’s got on Putz, and the millions of dollars less that he makes also give Joe a plus. He’s the only one I really didn’t like (and Carp, to a degree) in the Putz trade (figuring, of course, that Putz wasn’t injured).

Jeff Innis?
You don't cheer for the Mets. You drink for the Mets.
I miss him and his terribleness
If there's ever a riot at Citi Field and Oliver Perez was the starter, I started the riot.
But they're going to meet with him.
They had no plans but then they changed plans and will meet with him.
I guess I just don’t get the outrage where they’re doing something you want them to do.

no outrage,
mostly sarcasm that initially, they had no plans, and then they changed their mind.
the end result is good. the initial approach is bad.
Shouldn't...
the success of El Duque and Livan Hernandez with the team cause Cuban defectors to flock to the team? It worked with Pedro, right Omar? Lol.
It’s bad to have a sarcastic first post, but given the Mets’ seasons from 2007 to now, it’s hard not to be somewhat warped, passive-aggressive, and other not-so-wholesome emotions.

With regards to Chapman,
I think he will be really good, but there are better ways the Mets can use the money. He’s a good plan B, but I’d rather the money go to Lackey or Holliday. Chapman just isn’t a sure thing right now.
Chapman would not be starting on the team that signs him
He’s still very raw and needs time in the minors, at least one year. I would love to sign Holliday and Chapman this off season, it would boost the big club and the farm for us.
