What can we hope for?

What can we hope happens that does not involve a natural disaster, act of war or anything else terrible which causes this series to never finish? Umps get busted for gambling? Congress repeals MLB’s anti trust status and it becomes an illegal business causing cancellation of the WS? There must be something.

by TDJ on Oct 28, 2009 8:06 PM EDT reply actions

actually

our best case scenario is probably a repeat of the 1919 World Series. One team wins, but then it’s found out after that the other team took money to throw the series. That way, it casts the winner in doubt.

Who just saw Rollins give up an out on the first pitch?

Wasn’t it gritty the way he just bunted right into that out without making anybody work? Way to set the tone for the series, give up an out on a crap base hit bunt attempt on the first pitch.

speaking of Harry Kalas

Was anyone at the home opener this past season? If you were, did you notice that a bunch of the crowd booed during the moment of silence they had for Harry Kalas? I still don’t understand how people can be that fucked up. It’s a media-made rivalry between two baseball teams, you don’t boo the memory of someone for that.

Dunno who the announcers are

I’m listening to ESPN international so I have no idea who the guys calling it are; they seem pretty good defiantly better than Joe Buck. They said its actually good thing to get on base and haven’t called any Phillies “gritty” yet, so far so good
