Bobby V. possibly coming to the NL East. But with the Fish. Surprises the hell out of me, if true.

Yeah, great show.

Riley’s great, but best character in show is Uncle Ruckus.

+1 And Rec'd

I had that feeling Jerry had some sort of part-time job in the offseasons.

Baffling if true

A team with the Marlins’ payroll is going to sign a manager for whom a $2 million salary would be a compromise? (Not to mention having to buy the remainder of Fredi Gonzalez’ just-extended contract.)

Just maybe, this is the beginning of loosening of the Marlins’ purse-strings; if it isn’t, it’ll be interesting to see a team where the manager is the highest-paid pro on the bench.

I don't buy it

Fredi just extended and he’s been very good.

What the F___

Freddy Gonzalez? Has he not done a good enough job?
Joe Girardi and now Gonzalez? Looks like the owner of the Fish is just a jerkoff.

Well

They are owned by Jeffrey Loria; jerkoff is probably the nicest thing he’s ever been called.

No way. We’re talking a good 10% of the payroll.

by TheBigStapler on Oct 4, 2009 4:04 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Yeah

What kind of message does that send if they shell out $4 mil for Bobby V when they turn over their entire roster every few seasons. This is an odd rumor.

oh good lord.

We've got ourselves a ball club, the Mets of New York town!

Oh, God NO!
Bobby V. possibly coming to the NL East. But with the Fish. Surprises the hell out of me, if true.

This would be a nightmare! If this were to happen, my views on the one team that kept the Mets from making it to the postseason TWO years in a row would be compromised, and not in a good way, either.

If anybody hasn’t noticed, my quote/avatar is modeled after the famous Bobby V alter-ego mysterious dugout appearance after his ejection, in which he was fined. Classic.

If Bobby V does sign there

I’d be on the phone with Freddi G before he got back home and kissed his wife.

I thought so.

But any chance to use “paperman” is one I will not pass up.

If next season opens with Bobby V. on the Marlins bench

and Jerry Manuel on the Mets bench, I will buy some nasty teal clothing and root for the Fish until the Wilpons sell the Mets.
