I agree with what Sam said a month ago,

Kikuchi will probably be looking for something less than Tazawa money (3 mil over 3 years) and he would be worth it at that price. I would be really happy if we got him.

Wow, I didn’t realize he was expected to sign for so little. I didn’t think Tazawa projected as well as Kikuchi though he was already a more refined semi-professional when he signed.

Who knows though,

Tazawa was the first Japanese player to forego the NPB draft. Maybe this year Kikuchi worth will be evaulated closer to the talent that’s signed from Latin America. Also, it seemed like teams were kind of surprised that Tazawa was available while Kikuchi has been planning feeling out MLB offers for sometime now. So, I also wouldn’t be surprised if he went for more. It should be very interesting and might cause the NPB to revise their draft rules.

I'm intrigued.

Anyone who throws an honest to god eephus is worth any amount of money.

Well, yeah.

But I mean if the eephus isn’t their PRIMARY offering.

So no Derek Bell, then?
