The Mets are "absolutely in" on Figgins.
Jerry thinks it's gangsta.

3/36 at that age?
ummm…….. aren’t the mets already going through this with castillo. 13 MIL a year is nuts for him. let someone else pay that. I’m not sure of his numbers but he’s bound to regress at his age.
4/44?
/eyes boggle in disbelief

Can Figgins play a good 2B?
Just wondering where they’d put him.

Its hard to gauge due to small sample size
but in the only two seasons he played there 20 times or more, he posted a UZR of -4.5 and -10.8, so that doesn’t suggest he’s fantastic there. I really think the Mets will be “in” on every big name free agent this year just so they can be “also ran”s so they can then claim they chased a lot of talent this offseason and it just didnt pan out.

That sounds about right.
I’d rather concentrate on Holliday and pitching/ a catcher than a position where we actually have good players.

113 games in 8 years, so...
No. Figgins is the perfect bad GM signing. He’ll get a largish contract, on the Mets his only reasonable position is 2b, one year ago he was horrible, he’s very old for a MI, he’s not durable, and doesn’t actually, you know, PLAY 2b.

In other word, he'll get 3/30 from Omar.

he only does that for pitchers, since position players play 5 times as many games
he’d give him 3/150, its simple Omar math.

Oh--and Figgins may have the worst postseason numbers
for any hitter with over 100 PAs.

ehh, small sample size

eh
I don’t see them making this move. They never sign overrated hitters and then play them out of position…oh, wait
No, but seriously – my hunch is they are “in on” Figgins to jack up his price for the Phillies. At least that’s what I hope
"[The Giants] beat us down. We were beat by a grown-man team, a team we want to be like one day. They came in here and took it to us. Out-manned us, out-gunned us. ... It wasn't even close." - Raheem Morris, 9/27/09
that's what I hope too
but i have visions of omar steaming from having his prized gritty experienced winning left fielder, with the body of a 25 year old, stolen from him last year and coming over the top of some ridiculous Philly offer to prevent a repeat.
