i really don't know why we care if players know the latest statistics

as long as they’re good at baseball, i could care less whether or not they know statistics

It's nice to know that these guys are into it.

These are the next Joe Morgans, John Kruks, etc. It’s nice to know that i the future we won’t have to listen to people with low intelligence of Joe Morgan John Kruk, etc. Even going to further than that, a lot of these players will still be in baseball in the future as managers, scouts, or coaches, I’d rather have Disco than Jerry or Warthen. And also, there are so many times guys who played three games in high school talk about stat guys who never played so they don’t know how to scout talent, when a Cy Young winner like Greinke says he looks at FIP, it, for lack of a better term, legitimatizes advanced stats for the general fan.
