Draft compensation 'loophole'
This has probably been discussed before with reference to different free agents, but it seems a daft loophole in the compensation system.

This line of thinking
was another solid reason to let Ollie go, while signing Derek Lowe after we signed Frankie and lost our first round. The Ollie haters here argued we would lose a draft pick by signing Ollie while the pro-Ollie side stated that we can’t lose a draft pick we don’t actually have.
the number one issue facing the Mets is finding that one guy who’s going to say "get on my shoulders and ride me to the championship."
