Congratulations, Phillies: Back-To-Back Champtions!
As my deep-seated contempt for the Yankees has no known limit, I was pulling for the Phillies in this one, which might have been their first problem since everything I root for falls apart these days (see: Mets, New York). Unfortunately, True Yankees™ like C.C. Sabathia, A.J. Burnett, and, yes, Alex Rodriguez, summoned all the grission they could find in their $200 million bones, and smote the Phillies and everyone else to get Back Where They Belong™. Philadelphia will just have to content itself with the fact that its fans are bigger douches than New York's. After all, not every team can be back-to-back world champtions.

Honestly, the fact that Victorino made the last out
Was plenty satisfying enough for me. You know Jayson Stark was jumping up and down in his Phillies under-garments screaming “GOOD AT BAT SHANE, FIGHT EM OFF, HOWARD IS TWO BATTERS AWAY AND THAT WOULD MAKE HIM” [pauses, looks up while counting on his hands, mutters “carry the two” under his breath and continues “THE TYING RUN!!!! GET HIM UP THER……awwww”.

WCBS AM
Ran ads for AL Champs merchandise at Modell’s after the Yankees lost game 5 of the ALCS, so premature adverjaculation can happen anywhere.

Any of these shirts that were made
will probably go to poor children in Africa, and that just warms my heart.
You don't cheer for the Mets. You drink for the Mets.

I think I read
that MLB burns them rather than give them away because they think it’s embarrassing.

That ad should be used many many many times next season
Only bit of solace: As a Knick fan, I am happy LeBron will be in NYC tomorrow and will hopefully get a chance to hang with his good friend CC at the parade. Maybe show him how good it could be to win in NYC.
That and the fact that the Phillies are losers makes this a happy enough ending for me.
Congrats Yankees.. you def di$erved it. That was one hell of a lineup you trotted out there.

I've really grown to greatly dislike LeBron
he annoys the hell out of me.

but he's awesome at basketball
although, as a Knicks fan I’ve gotta say the “well, the Knicks suck but that’s ok b/c they’re just gonna sign Lebron” mindset makes me a little uncomfortable. I almost feel like a Yankees fan

i dont think its that easy
but in the NBA you need a superstar to carry you. And LeBron is def one of those guys. I dont think they are just saying… we suck but its ok… i think they are focusing on secondary guys and using the FA to get that 1 special player.
plus, with the strict Salary Cap (how awesome would it be if MLB had an NBA like cap) you cant really just buy a team like the Yankees.

I'm a fair weather basketball fan
If the Knicks sign LeBron or just get good, I’ll probably get into again, but I haven’t followed basketball since 04.

My favorite prematurely available item:
a fake Massachusetts license plate that says “PATS 19-0” that I bought on eBay a couple of hours after that Super Bowl ended.
