Red Sox acquire Jeremy Hermida
They may view him as a 4th outfielder, but this certainly may help reduce the need for them to re-sign Jason Bay. While Bay may not be my 1st choice in Left for the Mets, Having both Bay and Holliday available and the Sox and Yankees less involved could certainly help with their respective price tags.

I don't think this affects the Sox and Jason Bay at all.
Hermida isn’t good. I still don’t get why the Sox are reportedly so interested in resigning Bay. I would think a FO like theirs understands his horrible defense. Let’s just hope the Mets get Holiday for a good deal.
