Rays Closing in on Shoppach
How come whenever we all agree on an idea here at AA, it seems like the Red Sox or Rays are the ones to pull the trigger on it?

Meh
we already got Chris Coste. And hopefully we’re still talking to Blanco. Add those two to Santos and you pretty much have the best catching trio of all time…

of course

Not that one guy who may or may not play first. What's his name?

I don't Know
If there's ever a riot at Citi Field and Oliver Perez was the starter, I started the riot.
There's that guy Jerry keeps mistaking for Carlos Beltran's personal tennis ball machine repair guy
Spock, or Sticks, or Spots or something.

Agh
I am getting so frustrated with the FO this offseason. Now they have notched up both sins of commission and omission.
and i guess we can call re-signing cora sin of remission

I'm pretty damn close to changing my vote to "fire Omar no matter what happens this offseason"
he’s pretty much proving to me that he really just has no clue and hasn’t learned a thing

He wouldn't be worse than what we already have...

Why?
We already have Santos and Coste, and we’re closing in on Blanco.

You answered your own question.
We should get Navarro because we have Santos, Coste, and maybe Blanco.
Navarro wasn’t great last season, but he had a .330 wOBA and 2.7 WAR in 2008.

That was sarcasm.
Of course we should have chased Navarro. Instead, we’re cornering the market on backup catchers.

I love it...this means Naxarro woll likely be non-tendered.
Either he or Zaun would be my top choice.

Whats hilarious is Carlos Santana, all-world catching prospect they have
was aquired for Casey Blake.
yeah that Casey Blake.
So whenever you remember the awful things Omar does, just remember, it could be worse.
he never did get Yuniskey Betancourt
"We're investigating the investigative procedure of the investigation of Tony Bernazard"---Omar Minaya (he really didn't say it but he would"
to be honest
IMO that wasn’t as bad a move as you think. i mean blake was very strong for the dodgers for that 2nd half and into the playoffs. then he posted a 4+ WAR this season.
plus, at the time santana was only in A ball and was battling reports that his defense would move him off catcher where he had converted from 3B. and that season was only his first really good year. now he’s clearly blossoming into a very nice prospect but i don’t think that was a terrible deal at all, they had a chance to make a push for the WS and they went for it by dealing a player who was clearly blocked.

I actually didn't think it was bad at the time either
I was just taking the opportunity to make fun of one of the few gms mets fans can make fun of. I was actually hoping we would deal for Blake at the time. Though I don’t think dealing for Casey Blake should count as going for the WS.
