Yankees Decline To Offer Arbitration To Anyone
None of these blokes were offered arbitration:
* Johnny Damon
* Andy Pettitte
* Hideki Matsui
* Xavier Nady
* Jose Molina
Each carries his share of baggage:
Damon can't throw and is a pretty bad fielder, even in left, though he's still quite valuable offensively.
Pettitte is old and doesn't have very good peripherals, but he's dependable and left-handed.
Matsui can no longer play the field at all, really; he'd be useful off the bench if he were willing to settle for that.
Nady is a nice fourth outfielder/spot-starter, but he rarely walks, is shoddy defensively, and isn't nearly as good as Mets fans like to think.
The Mets already have nine backup catchers, which means they're probably finalizing a two-year deal with Molina as we speak.

Yea
I fixed that before you even commented. Thought I could sneak it in there before anyone noticed.
right, he's a lifelong Yankee

that was then....younger, and also Clemens...
now he is much older, doesn’t have Clemens to hang with, and no reason whatsoever to go near the Mets.
I'll take Pettite
but I fear Omar is calling Damon’s agent, and saying 4/40
"We're investigating the investigative procedure of the investigation of Tony Bernazard"---Omar Minaya (he really didn't say it but he would"
Relax....
I’m sure Omar is thinking he’ll use Damon as a DH.

ha
no way Omar goes for Damon when Hideki Matsui is available. He’s the World Series MVP, after all

That was pretty funny. though
Also, Omar probably gets his buddy who works at Subway to do his taxes, free of charge.

Molina

No point in Omar doing this, since it won’t cost the Mets a draft pick.

It's a shame we can't get Yadier.
If there's ever a riot at Citi Field and Oliver Perez was the starter, I started the riot.
Even if we did, that wouldn't make the hurt go away
