OMAR'S WORK
Should be questioned the last three years. Fixing last years problems. Time to think forwardly and shrewdly.
Implement a real plan to improve the club. Not just try to do a patch up!! Step number one should be to improve
the bullpen. Sign MIKE GONZALEZ AND KEVIN GREGG, step number two is trade for JUSTIN MORNEAU or
CARLOS PENA and then sign JOHN LACKEY, and improve the bench, JUAN URIBE and L. NIX would do that.

Um...
First off, your master plan does not involve signing or trading for a LF or C
Second, there is no way in hell Minnesota will trade Morneau, and I doubt Tampa would trade Pena.
Third, Gregg sucks.
Fourth, this really wasn’t well thought out at all

To get Justin Morneau
You have to clutch it from the Twins’ cold dead hands. In other words, it’s not happening. Besides, we CANNOT trade away our farm system, because that’s who the Twins would look to target, and even then, it’s a long shot!
Before we start talking about trading for Lincecum, Pujols, et al., let’s stick to reality first.

So, my proposed trade of Lincecum and Cain for Perez and Castillo is a no-go?
How about we throw in Kunz, too?

We're keeping Santos, though. He's too valuable to trade for someone like Pujols.

Why are we so fanatical about diction
I certainly feel AA is one of the best sites out there no matter the team or the sport. This is enhanced by the comments of contributors and regular schmo’s like us. Some of the comments by guys like KeithsMoustache are epically good.
However, that being said, and not wanting to put too fine a point on it, taking a long view with a holistic approach and without getting to close to the thin edge of the wedge; some here might be viewed as being slight too harsh in their criticism of their fellow commentators work.
All I ask is that you remember your first contribution before eviscerating someone’s work due to bad grammar, rhetorical run on, hyperbole, vitriolic enthusiasms, etc.
All i ask is for is a kinder gentler AA.

If the poster had presented a coherent plan, and backed it up with some numbers
we wouldn’t be nearly so critical. The issue here is that no time, thought, or effort seems to go into this post. This site is a great platform to express your thoughts on the Mets in a manner that will induce conversation about a topic. If we’re not harsh on posters who aren’t willing to put in the time to present arguments in this way, the site will end up flooded with posts like those from the legendary centerpede1o1, wolfman/navyman, scotty, and so on. While these are occasionally amusing (sometimes bordering on hilarious), they are not really in the proper spirit of AA. Ultimately it comes down to us trying to defend one of the few places on the internet where you can discuss the mets with a rational group of people.
On an unrelated note, I’m glad you enjoy my commentary.
by KeithsMoustache on Dec 12, 2009 1:26 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Oh and
Yes you are 100% right, this is a great place to talk Mets without the homers and Jeterians, rednecks Phuck Phaces etc. This is a dreadful post, but at least the guy is posting.
Thats the strength of AA. People will write crapola, we will read it then comment on it. But if people shoot down the crap posts then posters won’t write and we will have nothing to read.
I like these terrible post occasionally, just occasionally, we see one good idea.

I needed to laugh after coming here and seeing we lost out on Halladay and Lackey at the same time, and then you go and remind me of this:
New sports word: ardor! Ardor: does your team have it? A short radio play:
Joe Buck: Well, Tim, you have to like the Red Sox’ starting pitching and bullpen, but how do you feel about their ardor?
Tim McCarver: Ardor is a funny thing, Joe. It’s like Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart said about pornography: “I know it when I see it.” And with these Red Sox, I just don’t see it.
JB: How do you know it when you see it, Tim?
TM: For me, it’s when you see the dick going in.
