Roy Halladay and his agent are in Philadelphia
In another link, CSN's Jim Sallisbury says the two sides are talking about a contract extension

Good
I hope this happens. And I hope Bay signs with Seattle and the Yankees get Holliday.
then I hope the metsbloggers get their pitchforks and torches ready.
UPDATE
Now they are saying it’s a 3 way trade involving Cliff Lee.
If that’s true, then major fail on the Phillies part. If you’re going to move a lefty, move Hamels, and keep Lee.
you know what I'm sayin' ?
I disagree
He had a down year last year but I’d still take him over Lee, even when not factoring in age/cost and I’d pick him to be the more valuable of the two next year and going forward.
huh?
Lee was worth 7.3 WAR in ’08 and 5.0 last year
Hamels was worth 4.4 in ’08 and 1.9 last year
How in the hell can you think he’s better if you’re not factoring in age/cost?
"[The Giants] beat us down. We were beat by a grown-man team, a team we want to be like one day. They came in here and took it to us. Out-manned us, out-gunned us. ... It wasn't even close." - Raheem Morris, 9/27/09
How about move neither??
This is significantly less bad if they are just replacing Lee with Halladay
Actually no
when you consider the cost, in prospect and in the huge contract they’ll have to give Halladay it seems like a net loss.
Why would Seattle make that move?
Since Lee is much older and apparently won’t be any cheaper to resign.
you have to think more like a Mets fan.
Seattle would make that move because its the one that hurts the Mets most.
/sarcasm.
you know what I'm sayin' ?
In that case
It will probably be a 4 way deal and somehow Philly will get Halladay and a boatload of prospects while only giving up Lee and the Yankees will get King Felix and only give up Hughes.
i hope they make this move
if it means they lose lee plus a few players for halliday, its really just replacing an ace with an equivalent ace and losing some depth. If they end up with both though, that would be a terrifying rotation.

From MLBtraderumors
(The New York Post’s Joel Sherman suggests Halladay would take less to play for the Phillies).
1. that’s gross
2. i wonder how much of a discount
