I actually can't say I don't think there's any truth to this
I’m not sure I would want to play for this mess either.
Yeah
Deserved or not, there’s definitely a cloud of uncertainty and negativity surrounding this organization. As a free agent with no childhood/hometown allegiances I would have a hard time picking the Mets over a team like the Red Sox, assuming $$ considerations are basically equal.

Omar
Has the knack of not signing guys who flop too. Lowe is the classic example of this. We might find Lackey another overpaid superstar sitting on a bench ailing. 5 years and $16m per is a lot to pay a bench warmer

Lets look at things objectivley, though.
The injured Lackey, in 2009 and 2008, didn’t pitch the entire season both years, but still put up WARs of like 3.0 and 3.9. Something to that effect, I didn’t look it up. That’s not worth a massive contract like that, but it’s not necessarily like he’d be the next Mike Hampton or anything. He was effective in his injured years, all things be told.

Apparently
Omar had no interest in Lackey playing for the Mets. So take that, Lackey!

I don't think there's any truth to the Lackey part, either.
No actual individuals and/or quotes were actually cited. It’s just Harper telling us that Lackey had no interest in the Mets- something I can’t actually believe.
