Matsui would have made 12 mill a year in a better economy? People are getting overpaid in this economy just fine, even the idiot GMs out there know not to pay an aging, non elite hitter 12 million a year to basically pinch hit 4 times a game.

you shouldn’t feel stupid. it’s ridiculous to word it like that, since it’s no like those other leagues are = to the national league in the same way the american league is. It’d be like saying the NFL is one of the few leagues that doesn’t allow some rule, referencing pop-warner leagues as those other leagues or something.

a little different though

there are way more professional baseball leagues than there are any other sport except probably soccer. Most professional baseball leagues nowadays have DH’s.

That said, popularity does not make something good. The overwhelming box office numbers for New Moon should prove that.

But I mean to say

that most of the other professional leagues aren’t on the same level as MLB so it’s not like the NL is just behind the times, MLB is by far the standard of baseball leagues.
