My Christmas Wish= starting pitcher

Santa.. Please sign me a pitcher,

I can't believe we are heading into the 3rd week of free agency with no new starting pitcher. I think we have seen every year that we just don't have the horses to finish the year strong, now people can blame the relief for the collapse a few years back but I always maintain that it is the starters that have not given us enough innings to keep the relief sharp. I also believe that Jerry Manuel, and Willie Randolph have wasted our relief pitchers too many times early in the year for non sense outings. When the team is down by a lot of runs, why run 3-4 or even 5 pitchers out there, leave the starter in, let him take some punishment for one outing, and if he has to come out, use a long reliever for 3-4 innings. The reason why we can't get the big outs late in the year is because teams like the Phillies have seen too many pitches from the relievers already and can make adjustments in the big moments.

That's what we're supposed to do. We're supposed to believe.
